Representative Canales attends inaugural opening of third Walmart in Edinburg.
Edinburg -. A sign of regional growth is opening new projects and proof of this is the recent opening of the third store of Walmart in the city of Edinburg, the first along the I-69 Central.
With this new store over 300 new jobs in the city, just as the occasion of the grand opening, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation donated $ 6,000 in grants to local organizations were generated, and a truck products Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley.
The City Manager Ramiro Garza Jr., said at the opening ceremony that Walmart is an example of a true community partner, not only for the donation of funds, but also the time of their employees.
With the opening of this new store more than 300 new jobs were created in the city.
The new Walmart store is located just north of the popular "The Shoppes", an area that in recent years has become one of the greatest assets of the city mall.
Meanwhile, state Rep. Terry Canales, who was also present during the inaugural court acknowledged that Walmart is really a store for people, because from the humblest to the most wealthy shop at Walmart.
The new store will offer residents the convenience to shop for groceries and general merchandise, in addition to services within First Community Bank and Subway food chain.
The installation of approximately 183,000 square feet will be worked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
